Winter Around Winterwood

Photos at the bottom of the story

Although I have never been a HUGE fan of winter, I am of winter riding.

The start of winter is always challenging with many storms and icy road conditions, so riding starts off minimal. So when I woke this morning to a brisk, sunny winter day, I just knew it was a perfect day to ride. Although cold, there was no wind and you just had to dress for it. There's just something magical about a ride through a field covered with shiny, sparkling snow under the sun and the tree branches heavily weighted by fresh fallen snow. It's really postcard, photo time!

My most favorite thing to do in the winter is gallop in the fields! To fly through the snow upon the back of a trusty steed leaves a sensation like nothing you've felt before. You can almost feel a set of wings grow upon you back. Your horse and yourself take the form of one. All thoughts, memories, good and bad just stay back in the wind, and you fly as one!

If you never experienced winter riding, you should, at least once!
