English Rider Clinic & Testing

April Harris will be hosting an English Rider Level Clinic and Rider Testing @ Forrestview Farms.
Start time is 9:00 a.m. This two day event will include an overview of the new Rider Levels, patterns, discussions and
excercises to assist all interested in obtaining their English Rider Levels through the Canadian Equestrian Federation.
Rider Testing will be held on Sunday May 4, 2008. April Harris is a Level 2 Coach, April Harris will also be accepting
mentors for Coach 1 and Instructor through Forrestview Farm's pre-instructor and pre-coach programs. Come and meet
April and discuss your equine goals and opportunities for you in the equine industry!
All welcome, lunch and refreshments are included in clinic fee.
Clinic Fee $115.00 a day plus testing fees.
Spectators $25.00 a day or $45.00 for the weekend.

Julie Bailey will be hosting a Western Rider Clinic and offering Rider testing for Western
Rider Levels @ Forrestview Farms. Start time 9:00 a.m. Julie Bailey will be giving an overview
of the Rider Levels, discussing patterns and excercises to assist participants in obtaining
their Rider Levels.
Julie Bailey is a Level 1 Western Coach who is also accepting mentors for the instructor
program and is available for coaching @ Forrestview Farms. Come and meet Julie and discuss

JOSH LYONS
When: JUNE 6-7-8 2008

Friday Evening: 7PM to 10PM
Josh will use his personal horses to demonstrate performance riding, and have an interactive
Q&A with the audience.
Saturday: 9AM to 5PM (1 1/2 hour lunch)
Josh will break out the unbroken horse. Introduce the horse to the round pen, establish
good ground control, the first saddling, and mounting/dismounting the horse. The majority
of the day is spent with the unbroken horse to get a good foundation to start building on.
Josh will also use his personal horses to demonstrate where the training is leading to, and
what would be expected.
Sunday: 9AM to 5PM (1 1/2 hour lunch)
Josh usually starts with part II of the unbroken horse. He will bring out the horse from
Saturday and show where he left off, and start introducing his legs. Int he afternoon,
here can be a trailer loading demonstration, to show the steps to take when fixing problem
trailer loaders, or for just teaching the horse to load for the first time.
Here are some of the techniques that will be discussed during the symposium.
>Learn how to use the round pen.
>Bridling for the first time.
>Teaching the horse to accept the equipment. (bit, saddle, saddle blanket)
>Dealing with the horse's fear
>Mounting and dismounting
>Taking first steps
>Introducing your legs.
Saturday and Sunday have a hot meal at noon, served on site.
